March Newsletter 2022

Welcome to our March Newsletter 2022.

We have lots of positive news to share, so read on!

Every day we welcome the laughter and excited voices of our 128 Kindergarten students, who have been with us now since January. After a few tears in those early days, they are now loving coming to school to learn and play. It is so nice to be back to some kind of normality after a tough 2 years.

We were delighted to welcome board members, Liza Rowan (from Singapore) and Julia Alden (from the UK) to Green Umbrella after two years without any international visitors. Liza and Julia worked closely with our support and teaching staff on enhancing the Early Childhood Education and Youth Programs.

They share their experience below, as do other volunteers. You can also read about the Robotics Youth Program which is supported by student volunteers from Phnom Penh. This has been so well received by local youth and we are excited to see what kind of robots they create in due course.

GU looks forward to hosting more volunteers throughout 2022, especially as travel restrictions continue to be lifted. In fact, this week we welcomed UWCSEA students and teachers from Singapore!

Thank you all for being part of our community!
