Executive Director
Sokrath founded Green Umbrella shortly after graduating high school while still a university student.Driven by his passion and background in education, he designs projects that span early childhood and primary education as well as healthcare facility and service improvements. Despite operating with a lean core team, Sokrath actively engages local and international volunteers whose diverse skills ensure project success while keeping operational costs low. Green Umbrella has made a lasting impact by reinforcing the value of education and encouraging parents to send their children to school. The organization systematically empowers local youth to give back—exemplified by the fact that 80% of its current staff are former students. Today, Green Umbrella elevates healthcare and education across Takeo and Kampong Cham provinces. Through the Karuna Kumar School, the organization educates 120 students annually, while its youth programs train 200 young people each year in soft skills and ICT. Additionally, Green Umbrella builds the professional capacity of 33 community preschool teachers who educate 883 students per year, welcomes 10,000 to 12,000 readers through its community libraries, and serves 10,000 to 15,000 patients annually through local health centers.
Vice Executive Director
Sophoeun brings nearly 15 years of rich experience in NGO program management, community development, and executive leadership. Having joined Green Umbrella after impactful roles at the Cambodian Red Cross and Asanga International Aid, he has managed diverse projects in community education, child nutrition, and WASH. Today, as Vice Executive Director, Sophoeun leads overall operational management, strategic alignment with the Board, donor relations, and academic standards. He holds a Master’s Degree in General Management from Preah Sihamoniraja Buddhist University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the National University of Management.
Administration Officer
Nireata has been a dedicated part of Green Umbrella since late 2022. Her inspiring journey started as a program student in the youth program, which led her to volunteer for nearly three months, work as a teacher, and eventually become the Administration Officer. Today, she efficiently manages day-to-day office operations, administrative workflows, and staff coordination to keep the organization running smoothly.
Finance Officer
Kimsean has been part of Green Umbrella since secondary school, starting as a student in the youth program. Her passion for teaching inspired her to work as a part-time English teacher under the organization's English project during high school, where she received various training programs from the organization. In late 2017, she transitioned into a full-time Primary School Teacher role. While working, she completed her university degree in accounting, paving the way for her move to the finance team in late 2022. As Finance Officer, she now applies her experience and skills to ensure transparent and efficient financial operations for the organization.
ICT STAFF
senghong is an Information Technology (IT) Officer at Green Umbrella with two years of experience in managing and developing IT systems. He is committed to continuous learning, exploring new technologies, and applying innovative solutions to improve the organization’s efficiency and impact. His key responsibilities include IT infrastructure and technical support, digital media management, graphic design and content creation, and ICT capacity building for students in partner schools. For SENGHONG, daily learning extends beyond personal growth—it is about acquiring cutting-edge technical knowledge to continuously refine both internal operations and community initiatives, driving meaningful, positive change for the organization and society.
Head of Kindergarten
Sreymom serves as the Kindergarten Principal at Green Umbrella, managing a team of 4 teachers. She has dedicated 14 years to the organization, following 4 years as a kindergarten teacher at PSE. She graduated from the Central Kindergarten Teacher Training Center in Phnom Penh and completed a one-month study tour in Singapore. Additionally, she spent 2 years sharing teaching methodologies with community kindergarten teachers to improve local education quality.
Kindergarten Teacher
Nary has been a dedicated member of Green Umbrella for several years. She initially joined the organization as a volunteer for nearly one year, then transitioned into the role of Librarian for four years (2017–2021). Currently, she serves as a Kindergarten Teacher, bringing six years of experience (2021–present) in teaching both intermediate and advanced kindergarten levels.

Sopheak is 33 years old and has been a dedicated Kindergarten Teacher at Green Umbrella for 7 years.Her professional development includes participating in early childhood education training programs, as well as graduating with a certificate from the Central Kindergarten Teacher Training Center in Phnom Penh. Today, she continues to apply her skills and knowledge to nourish the early education of young learners at the organization.
Kindergarten Teacher
Kimhong has a diverse background in early childhood education. She initially dedicated six years as a volunteer teacher at PSE before joining Green Umbrella in 2013, where she served until 2018. Following this, she worked for four years in a child nutrition project. Her professional development includes completing pedagogical training at the Central Kindergarten Teacher Training Center in Phnom Penh and participating in three study exposure trips to Taiwan to learn early childhood teaching methodologies. Today, Kimhong has returned to Green Umbrella to bring her rich experience and passion back to the organization.
English Teacher
Morokot has been a dedicated part of Green Umbrella since late 2022. She has 5 years of experience in early childhood education, including 3 years as a Kindergarten Assistant Teacher and 2 years as a Kindergarten Teacher. Currently, she serves as an English Teacher, teaching basic English language to young learners. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Management.
Security Officer
Vannak has been an essential part of Green Umbrella since its inception in 2012, joining the team when the organization was first founded and before any school buildings were constructed. As one of the longest-serving team members, he remains deeply committed to the organization today, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all students and staff.
Cook
Sokhon has been a dedicated part of Green Umbrella since 2016. Before joining the organization as a cook,she gained experience working as a factory worker. Today, she uses her skills to prepare nutritious and delicious meals for everyone in the Green Umbrella community.
Cleaner
Liv has been a dedicated part of Green Umbrella since late 2025. Her professional background includes working as a cook for Asanga International Aid, followed by experience as a cleaner at the Put Sar Health Center. Today, she ensures a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone at the organization.
