Samnang Socheata – Grade 6th Student

A 12 years old girl, from Putsor Commune, Takeo Province.  Socheata is KKS student of Green Umbrella. Recently, she finishes grade 6th at Karuna Kumar School and she is preparing for grade 7th at Sok An Chambok Betmeas Middle School in the academic year 2019-2020.

Socheata first joined kindergarten at Karuna Kumar School in 2013. Being a part of KKS, she felt very confident to express her abilities and Knowledge with her classmate and her parents. She got a chance to learn English and Computer skills with Khmer Teacher and Native Speaker.

From time to time, she has been motivated by her teachers to develop herself to become a top 4 student among 16 students in class. Socheata keeps improved herself a lot even when she back home. She usually gets up early to read books and does homework for teachers.  In her free time, she sometimes helps to wash her parent’s clothes and cook rice. 

Socheata comes from a poor family. Now a day, she lives in a small house with 10 people, including her parents. Her father is a retiring soldier and he has no right leg. Her mother is a housewife.  Her elder sister is a person who gets income to support her family. She drops out from school to work in one shop in Phnom Penh.  Socheata said that she wants to become a Pharmacist.
