Welcome to June Newsletter 2021! Thank you for your generous response to our May newsletter asking for support for our GU Food Program. Your donations have provided 100 Food Kits to rural families in dire need during the pandemic.​ 

As the situation worsens here in Cambodia, some of our KKS Student families are now struggling to afford food. We are therefore extending the Food Program to 36 of our 117 student families for the coming months. They will receive Food Kits providing basic provisions to feed a family of 5 for a month. A Food Kit costs USD$22, and again we ask for your support.

Our KKS students continue to learn from home due to COVID-19 restrictions. While supporting our students, we are also dedicated to working on our transition to Early Childhood Education (ECE), as outlined in our 2020 Annual Report. ECE is instrumental in increasing the literacy of children and it gives Green Umbrella a wider reach into the community to support families through education. 

Many of our local Youth Program activities are on hold but we continue to support Tukchet Association by setting up a library for youths in Phnom Penh. You can read about this below.  Hopefully, our local youth activities will be able to resume again soon.
