It’s been three years since we visited KKS primary school, part of Green Umbrella, to do volunteer work. However, no matter how long it has been, I still remember that summer with great fondness.
We were group of 16 students from Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages, Taiwan. We traveled to Cambodia to spend one week with the kids at KKS, to teach them in English about hygiene and environmental issues.
We were very surprised to see their genuine positive attitude toward gaining new knowledge. The most impressive thing was not their keen interest in the content of what we were teaching, but the interaction with all the students – their lovely smiles, passion, and kindness.
If you have ever been lucky to visit KKS in person, then you know that you too will never forget their smiling faces. To be honest, their smiles were the best part of my trip to Cambodia. Nothing can compare to this, really.
