The Early Childhood Education Program at Green Umbrella is intended to address the demands of early childhood education in order to increase the quality of education by beginning with early childhood education, and to enable Cambodian children to embark on a lifelong learning journey. Children in rural areas, underprivileged children, and children from low and middle-income homes are particularly highlighted among our target group.

Selection & Enrollment Process

• We announced this program to the chiefs of the 11 villages and gave out handouts with information on enrollment to villagers.
• Parents have to submit the enrollment form with their children’s birth certificate, date of birth, and poverty identification card (if applicable).
• We only admit students between 4–5 years old. Students are admitted on a first-come-first-serve basis.

After the deadline for registration passes, a lottery is held for late enrollments until we hit full capacity.

• We continue to support children in rural areas, underprivileged, and from low and middle-income homes.
• Green Umbrella staff will visit households with poverty identification cards to provide extra support.
