With a Khmer family (great for practicing Khmer)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">3. Or you\u00a0can stay in our Boarding House\u00a0(BH) in the pagoda.\u00a0The\u00a0Boarding House, \u00a0sleeps 10 people. There are 5 rooms and two beds in each room.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; color: #000000;\">What will you learn from your time at GU?<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">Green Umbrella\u2019s staff \u00a0are young or young at heart.\u00a0When you volunteer you will\u00a0\u00a0share in\u00a0their daily activities. \u00a0You will learn new facts about Cambodia and Cambodian culture every day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">You will :<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">feel connected to the Green Umbrella community.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">understand that diversity and difference are valuable.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">learn about Cambodian culture, history, country life, food, jobs, transport, housing and what life is like for marginalised people in a developing country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">understand the value of education and how many children overcome difficult physical, social, emotional and economic barriers as they strive to reach their full potential.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">learn more about Green Umbrella\u2019s NGO work, education programs and social enterprise projects.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">appreciate the ways that people are trying make a difference in Cambodia.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">learn about sustainable development and ecotourism projects through hands on action and collaboration.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">learn the Khmer language, and practice it daily.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\"><strong>How long can you volunteer?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">You can volunteer with Green Umbrella for a month or up to a year.
